An unglazed terracotta lantern with a domed top and a small loop handle, its walls pierced with leaf shapes cut by hand while the clay is leather-hard. With a candle inside, the leaves glow and throw their shapes across the table. Carry it out to the garden by the handle, or leave it on a windowsill for the evening.
